    When placing a lamp close to a wall, the light of the lamp gives off a shadow that happens to form a hyperbola. This can be observed through the two parabolas the shadow makes and we can imagine the asymptotes running through the corners of the lamp, forming an "X". Lamps can be observed at people's homes and in the stores we go to because it serves as light that allows us to see our surroundings.

   Hyperbolas are important in this specific example bacause lighting is really important when it comes to those who enjoy photography. Just about everybody has a smart phone to take pictures, and lighting has a huge role and effect as to what the pictures will turn out to be like. Some peoples' jobs are to be photographers, so their buisness depends on HD quality photos, but without this lighting, that would not be possible. Also, lighting allows the beauty of one's home to be recognized as well as the warmth of the household. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   This particular hyperbola is observed as the asymptotes run through the corners of the nose also forming an "X" shape. The "parabolas" that are a reflection of one another open one left and the other right. They can be identified on the crease/idention of the nose. 

     Even though there are not many different examples of hyperbolas in the real world, they have made one of the biggest contributions of all and that is for the ability for humans to not only see, but breath and smell. Regardless of the fact some people are born blind or go blind, being able to see, smell, and breath allows humans to live and enjoy their surroundings. Without being able to see, most people would not be able to identify the other important conics in life and see the beauty of the world and what it has to offer. Without a nose, nobody could survive as it is a way for humans to breath normally. The ability to smell different fragrances allows people to make inferences about what they are going to eat or to determine that there is a fire taking place in their own home. Whether people see it or not, hyperbolas have saved the lives of many as it connects the eyes and the nose together to allow them both to perform their specific functions.
